if a cast member withdraws and leaves cast, then rejoins does

if a cast member withdraws and leaves cast, then rejoins does he still have his cast member vote?

can't say I know the Offical ruling, but if I am judge or moh, until I see something from UKC, if he or she physically leaves the cast, they are done. If they stay with the cast, that's different, but I won't allow them to pick and choose which tree they want to score, which in essence is what they are doing.

EVEN IF THEY WITHDRAW THE DOG THEY ARE STILL A VOTING MEMBER OF THE CAST. NOW IF THEY LEAVE AND TRY TO COME BACK LATER I DON'T THINK THAT WOULD FLY YOU JUST CAN'T PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CAST.

You need to be more specific. Did he leave the cast as " took his dog to the truck" or did he "leave the place they were hunting and came back later"? If he just went to the truck to take his dog back as to not have to lead it thru the woods, yes. But if he left in the truck and came back later I would say no. Just because you withdraw you are still a voting cast member.

I believe rule 9 {E} "remaining handlers, though scratched retain all voting privileges" pretty much covers it. If he has to collect his dog and/or take it back to the truck he needs to inform the judge, do it asap and get right back. If he leaves otherwise he is no longer "remaining."
This is one good reason to have a spectator/backup handler along so he can do it and you can stay right there with the cast.

Never, ever sign a scorecard before the hunt time is complete. By signing the card, you are certifying that everything on that card is true and correct. How can you know that is true if you are not around for the rest of the hunt? By signing a card before the hunt is over, you may be falsifying a card without even knowing it.

Jim, I think if you withdraw from the cast early and you sign the score card you have to put the time you withdrew showing how much time was left after you withdrew. I could be wrong.

The only signature required in a valid scorecard is the cast winners. No other signatures are required. The old cards had those squares on the left side to initial and write your score when you leave, which was not the same as signing on the right side. The new cards no longer have those initial squares. Again, I will no way sign a card for a cast that is not complete.
