If you could relive the eighties, would you want a pup out of Hawk,or Chief, and why?

might want to check your %'s Eddie. he wasn't even the 3rd highest even when he was still on the list. scout is higher then hawk. I believe the manns spanky dog was aroun 18%. bullet and rambo2 are in the 12's.

to answer the question...............depends on what female lol

never owned anything directly off of hawk. both have their place and made their mark. now days people claim chief through treedogs but didn't hawk and scout also? I do know that chief produced some track driving machines also and im sure hawk did as well.

I liked pups out of Hawk.

He threw well balanced, good looking dogs that the average coon hunter could train.

Most of them weren't too trashy and were sensible.

Chief threw a lot of nice, well balanced dogs too.

I think Hawk dogs were superior in the mouth department to Chief dogs, on average.

I didn't like Scout pups nearly as well.

I'd probably go with chief then since he would be a shorter drive lol. don't think you could go wrong with either and nobody would know until the pups where hunted which would cross best with the individual female right?

I would definitely give Chief the edge on layup ability by a strong margin.

Probably independence by a little.

But his pups were way more likely to be hyper than Hawk's.

And as for tracking ability and drifting, Hawk all the way.

Pups

Heck I will just take one out of both dogs. Both dogs made their mark in my opinion. Dave Woofter ( Bristol Ridge Kennels ) P.S. I am hunting one out of Zeb and two out of Jobe so I like the Uchtman bred Hounds. The reason I bred my Lou female to Ranger is he has both dogs in his Ped. Good luck with your hounds.
