How many of you out there hunt dogs out of Jet 5 Again?

Ive got a pair of nice pups off of 5 again and I wanted to see if yall had the same experiences as I'm having. I like the 2 I've got. Just wanted see how yall's operate and what I should look for in the upcoming months. Mine are 9 months old. All responses are appreciated.

My pups are a lot like that. Open mouth track dogs in company. Kind of tight by themselves. Super competitive and very very nice hard tree dogs. One has a great mouth for a female, she drowns my 5 year old male out on the tree. The other not so much. They both fly on a good track, but the tough ones are still hard on them where they are so young. So far I like what I see, just wanted to see what other dogs out of 5 again are like. Thank you for your response

Male Dog

I had a male dog several years back out of V Again & a Jet V x Runnin Bullet bred Gr Nt Ch female.

He had a nice mouth, decent looking dog, very nice tree dog who would split & hold. He was an open mouth track dog but didn't say as much on the older tracks. He could run & tree a coon by himself, or with another dog.

My biggest fault with him was he was a very close hunter by himself. He would go to the end of the earth with another dog. He was also a little quirky around other dogs he was unfamiliar with, didn't want to operate with them but wouldn't get on out & get his own either. The quirkiness did seem to improve with age & exposure. If he would have had more hunt by himself, I would have thought harder about holding on to him.

Not an outstanding success story, but not a complete dud either.

I see that same quirkiness out of one of my pups. When I let my dogs out to run during the day she stays to herself. All the other dogs will run around in a group except for her. Since she treed her first coon by herself a month or so ago I haven't handled her off the same tree as my old dog. She loves to split and will stay all night (right or wrong). Idk if she's just extremely independent or just plain weird. I've never had a hound like that, but I can see it racking up the points in a nite hunt.

Thank you for your reply

Harold -I sure like the breeding on the female you have. I was not aware you had one from that cross. The Grand Nite out of Jet 5 Again is Gr Nt Ch Gr Ch Blue Bio May Flower-(5 Again X Gr Nt Ch Blue Bio Blue Flower) Flower is the dam of her and 6 Again, making May Flower a half sister to 6 Again. She hunts more like the Jet 5 Again side and trees like the Flower side of her pedigree-she is as hard a tree dog as I have ever seen. She is not the slobber mouth tree dog that 6 Again was, but is very intense on the tree. Best of luck with your female and I hope this answered your question. Enjoyed the comments on this post.

Let's keep it going, anybody that has hunted a dog out of 5 again or any dog closely related let's hear about it. I enjoy learning about my hound's backgrounds and what they come from other than what I've personally seen.
