when is the dog yours?

this may be a little confusing but I hope you all can understand.

a dog was purchased yesterday and the transfer on the papers shows yesterday as the transfer date. the papers were sent off today to become the new owners.

if the new owner takes the dog to a nite hunt tonight, do they put it in their name or the original owners name on the card?

thanks
JSS

I was told by Allen at the st. Judd hunt that they go by the date you bought the dog when you date the back.of the papers.

I did that once and put it in the original owners name since the papers weren't finalized. I don't know if this was the correct way to handle it, but I got to hunt that night so I guess that's all that matters.

I just had this happen at B&T days.
I had a dog that we just purchased and the paperwork was not back when we left for B&T.
I went and ask Cory the UKC rep.
We signed her up on conditional entry since I had no papers. Cory said to sign her up in my name and with the new name I put on the new papers.
Sign them up with all the information just like you put on the papers when mailed in.

papers

I had the same thing to happen. I bought a dog filled out the papers dated them and sent them in. this was the Monday after the St. Jude hunt. I was told at the hunt to hut him in the other mans name and me as the handler. To make a long story short i sent them in like i said . Decided to hunt him in a hunt on the condisional entry. I won first place when i called ukc to make sure i would get credit for perfomance points they said the date that they proccessed the papers was the date they went by not the date on the back when the transaction was made.
