How young do you start fooling with your pups on the bench. I'm getting a new cur pup (I know this is a coonhound forum but it's basically the same concept I think lol) and want to start working with her on the bench. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated. I've never tried to show a dog before in my life and want to give it a whirl.

I started messing with my pup about 4-5 months old. They have to be at least 6 months old to bench show them.

Never to early ....
I start them at about 8 weeks short sessions
it gets them used to it and your work later is a lot easier

I practice wit my pups almost every day since 3 months. Just set em up bout 2 or 3 Times a day. il put a hand full of they're kibble in my pocket and tell em bench. And if they jump up on it right away I give em a few kibble. Set em up and treat em. Make em get down then repeat. But il make em face the other direction.
