Arthritis in hip?

Friend has a hound that his vet x-rayed.Told him his dog has arthritis in his right hip.Probably caused from a injury when younger. The hound is 6yrs old.In perfect health other than that.Very nice hound in the woods too.

What home remedies are there{if any} to help keep the dog hunting?

I had an old dog a couple years ago that was having some joint problems I bought him Nutri - Vet hip and joint tablets. They did seem to help they come in three levels you'll want level three for older dogs and dogs previously injured. I bought these things at the Tractor Supply. They're cherry flavored I didn't have to hide them in his feed or anything he just gobbled them down like treets.

I use the tablets on my hounds the vet told me they're hips and spine are in better shape than most hounds he sees and told me what ever I was doing to keep it up. One is 7 the other is 4. The older dog has been on them since she was 4.
