Question about a walker pup

He is about 16 months old and the past week or so I've noticed him having black tarry stools. So he is having some blood in his tract somewhere. What are some causes of this?
It's maybe once a day and only every couple days. Not every time he goes.

If he's worth anything, I wouldn't be wasting time on this forum. I would have him at the vet's office pronto.

That's the plan. Just figured I'd ask first. Cause I'm working 6 and 7 days a week 10 and 12 hour days. Kinda hard to get to a vet in that time
