tek-2lt

I,m going to get me one if it's anywhere as good as the tek 1.0. you can track your dog up to 10 miles and shock him, if he's running off game. it will put you within 10 feet of your dog every time. I've go three 1.0 units and 9 collar's and love them. I've had the 220 and the 320 and for accuracy the tek beats them everytime. you just don't get the pretty pictures of the road but with this new one you do.

Double U hunting supply did a field test on them and i would stay away!!! JMO

They sound horrible

If i remember correctly, they compared them to an alpha and they didnt even come close to an alpha and as far as trackin your dogs for 10 miles they reported tracking distances that werent even 1 mile

Stay away from the tek 1.0 and 2 they can't track the dogs very well. I had the tek 1.0 and I lost communication with the dogs regularly. They can't handle hills.

.

I have used both the Garmin ALPHA and the Tek 2 both at the same time on dogs.
My main thing about the Garmin is I feel the mapping is better.
They both about the same as far as tracking which found to be good.
I might like the Training on the Tek 2 a little better or easier to use.

The bottom line is how well you learn the system. The Tek 2 seems a little harder to learn overall and you don't have many friends with them that you can ask operational questions.

WV Hound makes a good point about tracking in the mountains. I live in flat ground so I can only speak for that terrain.

I have a tek1 and if I could keep it working and not having to send it in all the time for repair I may be happy. My unit is only 1.5 years old been in for repairs 5 times. The only good thing I can say is all repairs have not cost me anything
