Michigan

Oh my goodness, what in the world happened in Michigan??? I have been waiting for someone to say something but there has been a deathly silence. Isn't Michigan UKC's home state? What went on up there? Shouldn't Rubio and Cruz just withdraw from the race now? Aren't they just prolonging the inevetible? I mean we all know how this is going to end. I guess that they have all of that money and it is burning a hole in their pockets so they feel like they have to spend it. Or maybe they are just too embarrased to admit defeat this early.

Michigan is an open Primary. Democrats can vote for Trump. That's my opinion, but the facts back that opinion up. 9 closed primaries so far, Cruz has won 6 of them.

Soooo, where the Democrats can't be spoilers, and only Republicans can vote for their Republican nominee, the score is this:

Cruz 67% Trump 33%

But isn't the general election an "Open" election? Won't the democrats that don't like Hillary vote for The Donald in it? Does anyone really think that Cruz has any kind of a chance of winning the general election with just the Republican voters? Come on now, there are waay more Democrats than Republicans in America. Just look at the last 2 Presidential elections. And a whole lot of the Democrats for sure did not want to vote for Obama. They just did not have any alternative. When The Donald gets the Republican Nomination, they will have one. Just look at the open primaries as you pointed out. You might need to give American voters a little more credit. They don't all just vote a party or for who "the establishment" tells them to vote for. When they close that curtain behind them, they vote for the candidate that "they" think will do the best job and don't care if it is a Democrat or Republican.

The last election cycle a whole bunch of democrat votes in open primaries helped Rick Santorum win a couple of states after Iowa, they were trying to stop Romney from being the nominee as he was the best chance to beat Obama.

Now does anyone actually think come General Election time any of those Democrats were going to vote for Santorum?? NO.

Some, and I stress some, MIGHT, MAYBE, POSSIBLY, vote for Trump in a General Election over Hillary. The vast majority I bet will not.

I hope that you are not a big time gambler. It sounds like you aren't very good at it. Why don't you think that Trump won't/doesn't appeal to a large amount of moderate Demcrats that don't like Hillary. Have you not seen the polls that ask people if they "like" Hillary as a person?

Have you not seen the General Election polls that have Trump at a 67% negative view? By far the worst of all the candidates democrat or republican?

How bout the ones that have his Honest and Trustworthy numbers down with Hillary's?

He's burned every bridge imaginable so far with supporters of other candidates. I'd love to hear your explanation of how he's going to mend those fences.

Here's my explanation. Polls are made up bull crap. How can a man with a 67% negative view be winning everything?

Popular vote so far is 34% Trump, 29% Cruz. Plus a whole lot of other people in Rubio's camp are severely against Trump.

Add those numbers into a General Election poll, and it's easy to see how a bomb thrower like Trump could have horrible negative view numbers.

Ga Dawg. This is a man that publicly called Ben Carson a loser, and compared him to a pedophile, for doing nothing more than climbing in the polls and being a threat at the time.

Now of course Ben is a terrific individual according to Trump, but do you think the ardent supporters of Ben Carson are going to have a favorable view of Trump, Ever?

Yeah and my wife pointed out to me that on Ben's facebook page, many of his followers are blasting him for it. There are like 29,000 comments and the word "betrayed" comes up often . There are some very harsh criticisms from some loyal Carson followers.

I have nothing in it either way, except to say I do not agree at all with Ben's choice given his beliefs and personality, and what he's stated he was for in the past, but I'm certainly not going to hate him for it.

Sounds like he is taking Ben with him in 'someway'.Smart move in alot of ways.

Not to belittle the point, most of them are this way, but this is exactly the reason people hate politicians.

Trump loudly compared Carson to a pedophile along with plenty of other disparaging things, earlier in the campaign.

Of course none of that was true, but that's Trump. Now he's lobbying for the man he called a pedophile to be in charge of our children in the education system. Unbelievable. Lol.

You are one super duper quick reader if you read even a 1/10 of those. Haha.

I have no idea if there's as many good as bad, just making the point that there's plenty of his ardent followers that are very disappointed and critical and wont be switching over to the Trump train the way it sounds.

Like I said, I have nothing in it on a personal level either way, I liked Ben, but he obviously wasn't a contender for quite a while now.

Sooo, if half his followers switch to Trump, but the other half are upset and switch to Cruz, would that be considered a net Zero? Ha.

Actually I think most have already moved on as far as their votes, Carson dropped out over CPAC weekend, there's been 2 different primary elections involving 7 or 8 states since then.

The truth on that? The first batch, Cruz won 2 convincingly, and came very close to the other 2. I think it was LA that night that even though Trump won, it was so close that they were tied for delegates. It was a net gain for Cruz in delegates.

Then the next 1 Trump won 3, and Cruz won 1. The end result was they were back to the same delegate count difference between them, before those 2 different primaries. A little under a 100 delegates difference.

Nothing to do with handling the truth, it's just a discussion, you're getting way too excited. Nobody's throwing a fit on this end trust me. Lol.

The only wall that really concerns me is the wall of Hillary, Trump will run into if he's the nominee. The cost of that could be way more than any wall Trump or Cruz is proposing.

I understand that but should we not All get behind the front runner? Trump will be the republican nominee and he Will beat Hillary, heck she struggling to beat Bernny Sanders and he may take Ohio.

So, if you "come very close" you can count that as a win?

And who is ahead in that "100 point difference"?

Talk about a "spin". When you lose you try to turn it around to make it sound like you are winning. Can I hire you to handle my dog in a nite hunt? My head is spinning.

No sir, no spin here. You asked and who won those?? Like Trump cleaned up. Both the truth and the facts are that at the end of both of those rounds, gain/loss was right where it started out, no more no less. Just relaying the facts in answer to your question. If you want to try and read something more into it, that's on you. I'm just relaying the results in answer to your question, and am fine with just that on my end. I've been thinking the object of the game and what everybody's watching is coons scored, (delegates) not trees?
