Waist of time or go!

Been thinking about showing a young hound at the Ashland spring hunt. I haven't ever messed with one much myself but he's seems to do ok. Still get's nervous when I go to set him up. He's getting to the point where I can walk around him and he'll stay ok but still wanting to shift his feet some what. Do I have him stretched out to far or not! He would show as a pup in the show! Thanks,Danny G.

To help a dog from moving on the bench. I set the front feet right on the edge of the table.

Thanks everyone

More than likely gonna give it a shot at Ashland and thanks for the kind words. As far as the boat goes,it's the next project to get started on soon! Bass tournaments start in April and I'm no wheres near ready to start prefishing when the ice comes off. Lot's to do with this pup yet! Gonna continue working him the rest of the week then get him all shampooed up,trimed and shiny for the judges this weekend! His grand sire and sire where both dual grands, hoping this one turns out the same on the plywood and in the hardwoods as he grows older. He's been a natural at treeing coons at a very young age.I'll get a pic from today posted later on the plywood and a video of him on the stump!! Always have liked a dual purpose hound!!Thanks,Danny G.

Panic at 6 months old!

Todays setup

Other than he shifted his right back foot a bit in first pic,I would like some opinions on his head position and his setup as far as how far I have him stretched. Do you like his head position in pic one or pic two better as we move along. I started to pace him on the blacktop driveway this morning and he was full of piss and vinager but at the end,he was doing great. He knows to lead well and now I just have to find me one of those fancy syinch leads all you experts out there use that fits high around the base of the skull to gain control of him better!! He's coming along nicely but ran into a glich this morning when I saw that the bench show on Friday starts at 2:00 in the afternoon. Gonna be tough for me to get out of the bussiness and make it happen! I'm the boss but bussiness comes first! Thanks for the imput in advance,Danny G.

1st pic! Head postion?

2nd pic! Head position and overall setup opinions wanted! As of this picture,I have put some black magic marker lines on the bench carpet so I can get use to setting him up overall the same way along with moving his front feet postion to edge of the bench as suggested and learn from seeing it everytime the same way as I set him up!!

I Like him Danny, The very 1st picture I thought his front legs should be a bit wider but in the other 2 he looks VERY GOOD ! one trickI like is to gate him fast enough to force him to reach fout for his next step, The dog that looks the best on the ground will most likeley win on the bench. Good luck! and let us know

Can we get a pic where that Bootick ain't blocking the view of that sweet, sweet Basscat? You should let me borrow it while you work with that hound, don't want the gas going stale.

I'll get a pic of that basscat for ya when I get it all cleaned up and ready for the tournaments to start in April. She's my baby!! Got to take good care of her. Mark, thanks for your kind words. He gates like a race horse, just need to get a bit more control over him. I get him out of the kennel after being penned up all winter he gets a bit excited. Thanks,Danny G.
