Hey Doug, what in the world you doing slumm'in around on the ole Bluetick board

All BS aside, a gent named Russ Downing (goes by Two Toes on the UKC board) could fill you in on what you are looking for. Another gent named Perry Vessley (goes by Jodaviess1 on the UKC board) could fill you in as well. Both men spent numerous hours in the woods with ole Spanky.

Wonderful weather we're having up here in Woodlot coon country isn't Doug!

Take care,
Vic

Hello Vic, well you never know where a guy will hang out when the snow flys. Lol..
Well got a little female out of Spanky semen x Skuna river spice
(Cross breed) and doing a little home work (history ) on her style and mouth on the sire. She's a coon treeing little out fit.but her mouth and style don't match her bottom side. Want to check and see if that's where it came from and the norm from that line. now you can about figure out what I am thinking.

if any one else knows about the spanky dog let me know. The Good, bad and the ugly , pm if you don't want to post.
Thanks

SPANKY

MR. Frank Erwin and I bred a couple to him more than a few years ago. Pups made fine coonhounds with huge mouths on them. My pup out of him, Sheba, had a screaming bawl mouth and when she treed it sounded like something had a hold of her and was killing her. The kind of mouth that made you want to run to the tree. Her brother that I kept had a mouth bigger than hers but she started treeing quicker and I put my time in her and sold him. They were naturally straight and could fly on a good track or grub one up and get it going quick. MR. Franks gyp, Glenda II, produced better pups than her sister, Bonnie, which was my gyp. In the almost 20 years I hunted with MR. Frank, those were the best young hounds I had during all those years, and I went through a good many.

Spanky

MR Terrell,
I had a direct son of Spanky that I called GR NT CH CH PR Mad Dog Tree Banging Spanky. My Spanky dog had an average to above average mouth on track and the loudest tree mouth {Short Bawl and Chop) I have ever heard. The hotter the track the quieter he got and the colder the track the more he opened. Outstanding on lay ups and a one bark tree dog, you could tree him when he started his locate. He treed the same on a cold tree or a red hot one. He could not be pulled. He was a hard hunting hound that you would find treed, somewhere. We try to maintain this blood in our breeding program. Any other questions give me a call 660-563-3710........Tim

Another possible source

Doug, another local source of first hand information I just thought of would be Bill Hubbard from up in London, Ohio. I remember Bill sharing his experience with me of hunting with Spanky. If you would like to talk to Bill, let me know and I'll shoot you his number.
