220 question

Why will my buddies 220 track collars alot farther than mine? I have updated the system and put on a long range antenna, deleted tracks etc. nothin helps. He can take his 220 with the standard antenna and track the dogs while in the truck with the windows up. sometimes mine will lose the dog at 300 yards. This is a refurbished system from garmin that they sent me when i sent mine in to fixed. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Its not my collars because like i said my buddy can pick them up just fine with his system.

It could be, that the little wire that goes from the antenna to the mother board, is broken or has a loose connection.
