Does your dog do this?

I was hunting with some well name gents on a full moon and hard frost. We said lets just call them in. I yelled about 5 times for my dog to come in and he did. The other dogs started treeing. I asked them what they were doing. They said they where going to get there dogs. I said I'm walking with I gotta see this coon. It was slick. I said if my dog stayed there he would have sparks coming out of his toenails. That's why there is so many slick tree's, it's all about the training. Young hunter's have to learn this.

I did have one for a short time that did that. If you tried to call her in she would instantly strike a ghost track, move it about 100yrds and tree. I didn't train her she was older when i got her. For the most part I have to say I really liked the dog, other than when she was pulling that she was actually a very accurate dog, and that problem didn't really rear it's head that often. I generally caught her at the tree anyhow.

Ive had dogs that would grab a "come get me " tree when you called them. I never minded it and never saw any relation to their accuracy. One of the most accuarate gyps I ever owned did this.
