Blasto

Well I found out that our 17 mo old Dan pup has blasto. He's in pretty bad shape won't hardly eat weak no energy fever rattling in lungs blind in one eye. Vet said at least around $1000 to doctor him then a question on recovery. What A spot to be in. He was makin a real nice dog also.

The vet told me it was $10/day/pill for 3 months and not very likely he would survive. The problem is by the time you find out it is too late. He had to sleep sitting up, because he could breath lying down.

My hound was 1 win away from an AKC Champion. I put him down.

Blasto

Vet told me $15/day for 2 mo. Or maybe longer. Couldn't really give me a percent of recovery

What did the xrays look like? How is the dog's breathing? It takes months for the dog to show signs and by the time it shows signs there is only a few weeks left. My buddy's dog died 3-4 months ahead on mine, but the got it probably at the same time. Most dogs fight it off just like a cold only a few don't. It is a fungus that grows in wet moist areas in the Mississippi delta. I live in Maryland and it isn't here, but my dog was being handled in Kentucky and that is where both dogs caught it.

Sorry man it is bad news. My vet said I could take my wife to Mexico for vacation, buy the medicine and return for less then buying here in the US. That sucks.

Good luck

Well he wasn't showing any signs of improvement at all if anything getting worse. So I had the vet to just put him down just a while ago to get him out of suffering.
