Wormer

When using safeguard horse wormer in the tube how much do you give a dog at one time? I know you give it for three days

For cattle wormer or goat safe guard use 1-ML per 5LB if its the horse kind and you have say a 70LB hound then give one thrid of a tube to be safe go on and give the other 2/3 in a three day worming for whips

i have used the safeguard an panacur and had good results with both.i split the tube up in 3 equal doses for a large hound.

You can purchase hartgaurd from this website with out a script. In Australia they don't require a script therefore it is much more affordable. I think it's about 4 dollars a dose.
www.Petbucket.com. I have been using them for over a year with no problems yet.

Using cattle dewormers and horse dewormers is hard on a dogs liver. It doesn't mean they will fall over and die on ya, but I wouldn't be surprised if there liver enzymes are high after a dosing.

I did have a buddy kill half a litter of puppies by overdosing with ivermectin.

never give puppies ivemect. I have used it on my older dogs for 40 yrs. why a pup! get puppy wormer. jmo

None, that is how much to give a dog!
If there were not better alternatives for the same amount of money, I could see what you are trying to do.
Order you some all wormer tabs from pet shed and you can control all 11 intestinal parasites.
I can worm a 66lb dog for $5.10. That is if you buy the 100 pill bottle. I always get several guys to go in with me, it is cheaper per pill than the smaller quantity bottles.

I can worm 10 dogs for $10 with the horse wormer. It would cost me $51.00 with your wormer. One tube costs $10 and I can get it at any dog/horse/farm supply store when I get my dog food right here in the good ol' USA. Are you figuring the shipping cost in with your wormer? And I don't have to get anyone to "go in with me to get it".

You do not have to get anyone to go in with you anyway, that would just be a bunch of wormer to have on hand but this last batch did not expire for 3 years or so.
Yes, the shipping is figured in. I just received another batch last week. If you look at the active ingredient in your horse wormer that you are using off label, You will find it gets tapes, hooks, round, and whip worms. Also notice the active ingredient is not specific as to how many of the species of each type of worm it controls. It may control all 11, but I can't find that info and how do you know how much to give them?
If I can't afford $5 for a complete "on label" worming that is just as good as Drontal, I probably do not need dogs. I bet it does not get them all, especially that one type of tapeworm.

Never mind, I looked it up. It is almost the same as Drontal. It looks like an excellant wormer but that is a lot of money.

It is actually ingredient(s)..... PRAZIQUANTEL, PYRANTEL & OXANTEL.......

I have found where the horse wormer is effective against "some tape worms" but it did not specify which species and the fabenazole (or however you spell it) is also not recommended as a single dose treatment so your price algorithm you posted earlier has just went way up.

I switch between Safeguard (Fenbendazole) and Panacur (Pyrantel). It is just hard for me to pay out $90 for a bottle of wormer. And then on top of that you have to give them Ivomec monthly for heartworm prevention.

100 pills is actually more than $90, more like $160 or so after shipping but you can worm 2- 66lb dogs for the next 4 years if you worm them once every 90 days.
I do not know that it can get any cheaper than that.
I just bought some ivomec about 3 months ago and it was about $60 and expires June of 2018.
That only comes out to about $1.20 a month if I discard the remainder when the expiration date arrives.
I imagine if I had 10 dogs I would run out of these medicines pretty quick, but I have never, ever had over 2 dogs at once.
