Need Question Answered ASAP

I have a dog right now who is still moving and is DEEP in private property and I am not able to get to her. We've tried different things, but we can't get to her. I am going to get her when the sun comes up tomorrow. I have a Garmin Astro 220 and DC40 collar on her. The 220 handheld is only on one bar of battery left. If I put in new batteries to where the handheld will be turned off and turned back on will I still be able to find where she is or will it not pop up where she is? Thanks

Do you think I should switch batteries right now or wait till it dies to see if it'll last till the morning? Would it make a difference?

one battery bar won't last till morning. Change it while she is close enough to pick her collar back up. and you can still hear her in case it doesn't.
why can't you go get her? Water? may have to use the lights off method to go rescue her...

Turn your light off and go get your hound. If you could get a pair of goggles to wear its better.

I would go get her no matter what right now. To many bad things could happen between now and sunrise. Coyotes, theft, hit by car. Or she can run off farther then your 220 can pick up in the morning.

I would go get her no matter the circumstances,,I would rather get a fine than lose my dog,or god forbid, the owner of land shoot it,or coyotes or she going to far for garmin to track her,,hit by car,,stolen or whatever else could happen.
Change batteries now,,garmin will pick her right back up,,I've done it many times,,good luck

Yep. I got her later that night once I had gotten new batteries and thankfully by that time she was away from a couple houses where some people were doing some stuff they shouldn't.

Just for everyone's information, it is not illegal to retrieve your dog in the state of Indiana. Indiana court of appeals ruled that retrieving a hunting dog without the intent to take game is not just cause to charge hunting without consent.
