hunting young dogs

If you have a young dog (year old) that by itself wants to hang around you, do you keep hunting it or leave it at home for awhile or what?

Give the dog the opportunity, take it. If it hangs around u put it in the box.
Repeat as needed.

What's it learning if u lev it @ home?

Good point dogwhisperer. Ahh I just get a little frustrated lol. She hunts out pretty good with the older dog and has treed a den by herself once and trees with the older dog and had the coon. Just got to give her time I guess.

It takes time

I used to get frustrated with my dog when she was 10 or 11 months old. She wouldn't leave my feet when I hunted her alone. She used to go out maybe 100 yds then come back. I just kept takin her and hunted her with other dogs I trusted hunting her with. now at 23 months old her going out 2 miles ain't nothing. You gotta give them time and patients. I used to just set there and ignore her and sooner or later she would go hunting. Just takes time and patients.
Also if your hunting the same dog every night at that young it does help to put them up for 2 or 3 days to put the fire back in them. That's what worked for me.
