we need more of this, and less of those idiots in ferguson. I have been ashamed of the way my state has looked on TV for the past several months.

Groton Connecticut

I had a similar experience. ..while working in Groton @ phizer pharmaceutical plant...bunch of us from sc was doing a large piping project up there...on Thursdays I would cook bbq behind the motel when we got off work and I would sale bbq sandwiches @ work on Friday . The locals had gotten used to this...the sandwiches would usually be gone before 9 oclock break...most of the time several of my friends would hang out behind the motel with me while I cooked..This one particular Thursday, there was a boxing match @ the casino down the road. All my friends had tickets, so I was stuck by myself cooking...oh well I figured....behind this motel was a big wooded hill and a hedgerow....I kept hearing something in this hedgerow walking, I figured it was a dog a deer or something like that. After I got through Sauceing the meat , I looked over and seen ahead peeking around the hedgerow..I got nervous, went into my room and put my pistol in my pocket and walked back out...I didn't know what was fixin to happen..when I returned I saw several heads peeking around the end of those bushes...I shouted to them "yall hungry?"..one nodded....I said "yall come over here"...turned out to be 12 people. They lived on that hilltop in cardboard boxes. I quickly went into my room and brought out some paper plates, buns, and a cooler full of beer...they ate like they had never eaten before.....I told em to eat all they wanted...they thanked me after they finished and went on back up on that hill.......I can't even explain the feeling that I had after that experience. ...it's a great feeling when you know you have helped people like that

Great stories. It is not our responsibility to cast judgement but it is to help our brothers & sisters.

great story Ron and exactly why 99% of law enforcement officers went in this profession for. to help people. whether it be keeping bad guys off the street to make it safer for the rest or helping someone in need like you did.

hopefully the rioting has slowed down by you. we have had a couple calls to groups of people protesting and a few that started getting physical( throwing rocks at car etc) but nothing like what st. Louis has been dealing with.

be safe
