As we approach the last weekend of what's been a fun and exciting year for the NHBA hound of the year race it's not all the way decided yet. With a maximum of 20 points left to be won it's still a battle between a few dogs. Before we get into that I'd like to congratulate a couple of people who have locked it up in the points.

First of all Brian Meade and Meades Outback Double D Dez has just had a phenomenal year as she has locked up first place and top female in the hunt portion with 118 points as of now.

Next we have Brian Campbell and Kevin Weaver with Campbells Hillbilly Skamp who will get the honors of top male in the hunt portion with 82 points as of now

As far as the Show portion goes Chad Richardson and Calvin Mings has had an outstanding year with Long Creek Black Gold Molly as she has the top spot with 100 points

Runner up and opposite sex winner in the show goes to John Bullock and White River Leroy as he was able to hold on with 50 points

Now comes the fun part. In the hunt portion for runner up male and female it's not a lock for anyone yet.
We will start with the males first. Dave McVay and Gauge VIII is sitting with 52 points however, John Carr and Firewater Razor who has 40 points and Allen Newby with AKA Hurricane Stretch Em Pete who has 34 points could still pull out the come from behind win

The battle for runner up female is very tight. As of right now Owen Dagostine and Dagostines Sweet Shot of Honey is sitting with 54 points and only a 2 point leader on James Gingerich and Joe Brown with Buck Lake Shenango Sadie who has 52 points. Can Sadie come back and catch Honey?? We will see!

This weekend we have a hunt in Holmesville, OH on Dec. 13 and another in Coshocton, OH on Dec. 14
Also we have a two day event in Red Oak, MO

I am pretty positive that you will see almost all of these dogs at one of these hunts. Congratualtions to the winners and good luck to those that are still in contention.

Good luck to all contenders this weekend. Because I am a little partial to one of the under-dog contenders, I'm rooting for Sadie to pull it off.
