Birdseye on 320

Just got my 320 yesterday....updated it...downloaded a free PA topo map and it works beautifully...

Bought the Birdseye subscription and when I try to open it in base camp it says "error communicating with Birdseye imagery servers".

Does it take a couple days for my subscription to be activated or something???

I am signed into garmin through base camp and still nothing...it recognizes my 320 is Birdseye comparable and tells me so...just won't let me use it!

Thanx for any help!

I know I may need to call but that won't he possible for a while due to work so I figured y'all may know what the bug is...

You have to download your maps thru base camp, and download them to a sd card, downloading it to the receiver will slow your unit down

The card is for downloading the maps,,,if you don't download any maps,it won't have anything on it,,,you have to get on base camp to download maps,,,it is very time consuming takes many hours,,,and you have to have wifi, high speed Internet

I have high speed WiFi and all that...

I have a garmin 320...

I downloaded base camp...

I downloaded a free topo of PA...I transfered it onto my 320...the topo shows up and works great...

I then registered my 320 with garmin...I then bought Birdseye satellite imagery from garmin and registered my 320 to my Birdseye that I bought...

When I go into base camp it tells me my 320 is compatible with Birdseye...

When I try to launch Birdseye in the base camp it says "error communicating with Birdseye imagery servers".

Hope that helps someone help me...lol.

I don't understand why it won't launch....Birdseye servers down? Maybe it takes some time for the subscription to go through? I don't know...bought it last night and as of this morning it didn't work...will try again tomorrow evening after work..

It's been too long ago for me to remember how but I do remember almost giving up for the same reasons . I really like it now around my usual spots since I recognize what I'm looking at and know how to get there .
I'd get ahold of somebody at Garmin and see if there's an easy way to get it done because it was a pain to load for me . Of course I'm old school computer challenged .

Your subsription is usually approved instantly and you can go right to downloading. Something may be wrong with the garmin servers. try turning off your firewall or virus protection and see if it works. Also you will need to get you at least a 16 gig micro SD card But a 32 gig is better and get a class 10 card dont get the cheap ones. There is not enough internal memory on the 320 to hold very much.

It worked on XP and windows 7 for me. Its a slow process though downloading birdseye. I recommend the highest quality to on the sattelite images. You can see alot more detail.

Works fine on another computer...

Man there's gotta be a better way....that's slowwww going for sure! I want it mostly for deer hunting....it will take me a longggg time to load all the different places I hunt...and may have to make multiple cards for different areas!

Someone gotta come up with something better! Lol. Nice to have it without internet connection though...
