Chewing? Wilcox or Main Street

Trying to get an idea as to which of these lines if not both tend to reproduce chewers... I don't have much experience with these lines so I would like your input on what y'all have seen

I wish it was just that simple to point a finger. Before Main Street and Wilcox somebody else was breeding dogs and before them was somebody else !!!!!!!!!

I realize that but it's no different then if I were to ask which lines tend to be bawl mouth, or which lines tend to be independent.... I just want to know out of these two lines which seem to reproduce chewers... I'm not interested in knowing if one chewer comes out of every hundred dogs I want to know which commonly reproduces chewers...There is a double standard if a stud owner advertises his stud or line to reproduce loud, independent, hard hunting, and accurate coon dogs but if an undesirable trait is mentioned they revert to your statement

I know u will... And I'm not saying either of these lines produce chewers on a regular basis I just don't know... I think highly of the Wilcox and Main Street dogs and there owners and I'm sure they are straight shooters because they have that reputation, I just haven't called them because I know they get phone calls all the time and I know it can get frustrating when you have other things going on, so I just thought I'd get some input on here from people who have hunted these lines... The reason for my post is I have a nice female that I will eventually breed and was looking into which direction to go

I have a male and female both are Wilcox bred on one side of the pedigree. My female has only chewed a tree one time in 2 years and that was on a 72 deg summer night with high humidity and she was solo. Never had any other issues, also have never fooled with anything Main Street bred.

I have a female direct out of Roy that chews on every tree if there are vines or limbs nearby. She is probably the most radical tree dog I have had that is not ill. Slobber running down her neck and she will chew a grapevine in to as big around as your arm. Some people do not like a hound that chews. Personally, I don't care because every dog I've seen that chews is a good tree dog.

I have hunted with and owned probably a dozen or more dogs off the wilcox line and am currently handeling one now in the hunts. I have seen a few of them chew but nothing to severe.

My Ike dog off the Main Street line is a chewer. It is aggervating at times but his speed, accuracy, and indepandence is amazing. Plus when he looks up he is not moving for anything.

One thing I can't handle in any breed or any dog is barking or whinning in the dog box. Nothing more aggervating.

I havent seen any of the main street dogs chew on trees maybe grab a vine nothing bad but chewing is a inherited trait so I never use a dog that chews for breeding same as jacking the tree.really bad deal.
