Bruin

Chris thanks for posting.... Really good read.... I wonder if they will have tv news coverage on the agents breaking game laws like they did when they was wrapping up something bruin with all the state and federal agencies? I bet not. Thanks for the post..

Amazing that almost all the illegally taking bears were actually shot by the DNR officers themselves.

Updated: Friday, April 25 2014, 07:26 AM EDT A News 13 investigation finds questionable actions by wildlife officers during an undercover sting to catch bear poachers. Last year's operation, called "Something Bruin", was aimed at stopping hunters from illegally killing black bears in North Carolina and Georgia. State and federal wildlife officers arrested more than 80 hunters and charged them with hundreds of crimes. But some of those charged in the sting claim undercover wildlife officers actually killed most of the bears, not them. And now, a local congressman is calling for a federal investigation into the operation and those officers. Click here for Part II of this Special Report.

I know probably 10 or 12 of these guys that were involved in this. But one of them was in court and the judge said 30 days in jail and the prosecuting attorney told the judge we are not looking for jail time because basically he hadn't done anything wrong and had been very helpfull. But the judge said 30 days in jail anyways. That's pretty bad when the prosecutor says no jail time and the judge still says jail time. So I think a lot of this was political pressure to appease the bunny huggers that live around Asheville. They also put a 10,000 $ reward for the person that killed the bear and wrote "what's bruin now" on the paws of the bear and dumped it by the courthouse in Asheville.
