Audrey James Leader Obituary

James Audrey "Boya" Leader, 61 of Wewoka, the grandson of Nellie and Jimmie Bell passed away on October 15, 2014. A wake service is scheduled for 6:00PM Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor John Waltrip will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jr. Bell, Randy Leader, Raymond Leader Jr., Bryan Wells, David Jackson, Bryan Leader, and Tony Leader. Honorary bearers will be Orville Rose, Ronnie Gamble, and Joe Freeman. Interment will follow at the Hitchitee Church Cemetery in Strothers, Oklahoma.

Born on December 4, 1952 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Molly and Barney Leader, he was raised in Lamar by his grandparents and aunts. He went to Lamar Schools and Moss High School. He married Gayle Watkins and the couple had one daughter, Jamie whom they loved dearly.

He is survived by one daughter, Jamie Leader of Enid, brothers Eddie Leader of Henryetta and Raymond Leader and wife Theresa of Lamar, aunts Wanda Bounds of Konawa and Eleanor Waterman of Shawnee, special friend Jenny Owens, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding James in death are his parents, grandparents, uncles Charlie Bell and Raymond Bell, aunt Joan Lowe.

James was employed for many years by Conoco Petroleum and worked all over the United States as a welder. He became Construction Coordinator for Conoco and enjoyed his work until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and was avid sports fan. His greatest enjoyment was watching his daughter Jamie perform her dance.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Online condolences to the family can be made at http://www.phillipsfuneralservice.com.
