I've heard people say bear love them personally I've had no luck with them just deer and coon eating them. Oh yeah I forgot I did get a turtle on my pile lol. I think it depends on what other food sources are around like for instance if the peanuts are turned in the fields the bear usually won't touch corn and vice versa. They do love wild grapes and paw paw fruits for sure

I've had real good luck with sweet potatoes. The problem with them is you got to get them started on them then you will have some bears will choice them over corn peanuts basically everything. The key is to put out small piles and cut them up slice them. Once they get started on them you can give them whole taters and big piles if you give them big piles at first most will rot before they get hooked on them. One year I had three piles with corn peanuts and sweet taters. I had to piles the bear would eat the sweet taters and both bear was over 500. The time I really like to use them is to start them opening week. They will be one them hard by like our secound season. The good thing about them is everytime he steps he scars sweet potatoes so he don't go far he just lays on them specially once he has started the gorge.

I'd bet a fresh Ben that if you candied them sweet potatoes every bar in the woods would be right there on them!!!!! Actually never thought of trying them...I did find that bears don't too much like apples as much as I thought they would. I figured they would go for some good fresh apples but not really. They did eat some but didn't clean them up.
