Anyone know how his name came to be?

I've never had anything related closely, but I've been helping with a double fightin side bred male that wont lay back and be corrected by anyone but his owner. You could say he's got a fightin side.

No illness with dogs or the guy that feeds him what so ever and a tight mouth coon treer. Just got me to thinkin.

I had a direct son of fightin side I called him my fightin side and he was a super nice hound I ended up having to put him down because he broke his back twice.

He was a coon dog but he started getting a little ill and I don't know why

Yes I do, Scott likes them old country tunes, Merle Haggard sang a song called "The fightin' side of me"...that's where it came from.
