That is going to depend on how you want to carry it.

There are Gizmmo vest
There are nylon pouches that go on your belt
There are rubber protection covers that protect the handheld. Some glo in the dark and some don't

I used the Gizmo vest as it gives best protection. Now I have changed to just using a lanyard and have it hang around my neck with the antenna pointing down.

I like the Gizmo because it has the clip to clip it on your belt and the nylon string with a plastic snap to snap on your belt loop so if it gets knocked loose it will just be hanging there.

I dont have a alpha but if i did i would go to my cell phone store and buy some of those screen protector's that you can cut to any size so it will keep your screen from getting scratches!
