A Redbone. Handled by someone who is handling a Redbone at this hunt.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I think we'll see some good scores. Plenty of coon around Olney and good hunting.

My money is on Boone. I was told by a fellow that hunted with both that a dog named Shine was awfully nice and Bear did not stand a chance against him. I was also told that there was a certain "Wonder Dog" from over in North Carolina that was on fire and was going to win it all. But his owner was the one that told me that.

Talking

You don't earn the handle "Wonder Dog" for nothing. I don't worry about the dog operating I worry that the handler will have trouble making 3nights in a row!

Jon Henry...

That would be great to see him there..! I'm sure a lot of folks would wanna see those dogs on a cast together... I'm guessing he is on a break now, this GA heat and humidity ain't no joke... I'm sure he will start collecting money when fall gets here.

There is going to be a big field of Nt.Ch. dogs hunting this year.....the competition will be tough in that category.

I was thinking the same thing about being a spectator on some of those Night Champion cast. Man there is gonna be some good cast there!!! I think the winner may be a sleeper. Who's knows what gonna happen. You never know, maybe the opposite sex winner from last year may be the overall this year. I I'm not putting my money on anyone, there's a lot of good competition. Could the winner be line bred or a total outcross? Who knows????

We are all counting down the days..... The boots are not having enough time to dry between hunts, the wives are getting upset cause were in the woods all the time, pads are getting wore dogs feet, we are all getting less sleep and tired at work the next day, Richard still trying to figure what dog he is packing, . It's that time of the year guys. It's not for the weak or less hearted . Good luck to everyone.

Win or lose I'm sure it will be fun.

I predict a little female called Fixin will have 90% of the honest first strikes and a lot of the first trees and if she takes any minus it will probably be her handlers fault and not hers
When I hunted with her last weekend I saw a dog that gets deep fast, gets struck fast and has a nice locate and is a stay put tree dog....all of those things add up to wins in competition. I think Dean said she is coming off a battle with lymes but I sure couldn't tell....I wouldn't be surprised if she does some winning in Olney.

I was thinking that myself just yesterday. A Nt Ch win is going to be hard to come by this year. There should be a lot of Nt Ch casts this year. I hired a young Pro handler for Bear this afternoon. I have gotten too old to keep up with these youngsters.
What Gr Nt Ch's will be there????? I know that Boone will be there. What about Kat? Will Johno be there with T? What about Andy and Train? Ed Morgan and his Gr Nt will be there. Will Rex bring Big Red Jim or the young Nt Ch female? Who else?

I've heard the Florida gyp is tuff. If she can tree coon in her conditions night after night she should have no problem in the coon country of Southern Illinois!

Come find me at American Days, I'll be at the UKC table. I'll find you someone to spectate with! You will get to go for sure. You'll find the guys at this hunt are generally a laid-back bunch of good old boys who love Redbones and love to coonhunt. I don't have Red dogs but I always enjoy this hunt.

Not bragging Tim, just saying what I've heard. Who knows what could happen up here in coon country. I've seen dogs from your part of the country shine like a diamond in it or it totally blow their minds too. I'm not going to make predictions on anyone's dog. Just going to wish everyone luck and wait to hear about the hunts in the morning!

Anytime man. The ARCA folks and the club members at the East Richland Coonhunters are both a good group of guys. We'll find you someone to go with.
