Sorry for the confusion. Usually I am working and got a million things going on in my head when I post.
From what I understand the UKC stand is that the child has to unsnap the dog and other than that the parents can help hold or get the dog on leash.

Ive got a 95 pound dog and at every hunt my son has ever been in including the youth nationals 3 times they allowed me to "handle" for my son.i was able to unleash;handle at tree;and lead out of the woods but i had to stay back away from the cast during hunt time and the kids done all the "calling"for their dogs for what they did.

All UKC Hunts including youth.

YES, you can have a dog handler in UKC. the "hunter handler" must call the dog and make all decisions concerning dog during cast.
The "muscle handler" can lead, let loose and catch.

Actually, I think this is true if any UKC hunt, not just the youth hunts.
