Garmin 320 & Bermuda Triangle LOL

Was hunting Friday night a few miles away from the Logansport Indiana coon club. Turned dogs loose , they went in about 200 yards and struck. My dog had been quiet for a few minutes so I checked the garmin to see where she was at. On the map page it showed me she was approximately 150 yards across the creek. When I went to the compass page it said she was 48.??? something miles. I told the cast members what it said and another cast member said his was giving him the exact same distance on his dog as well.

Some dogs got treed deep in front of us so we walked to the tree approximately 350 yards. When coming off the tree the other handler told me to turn my unit off and back on as it had cleared his issue. I looked at mine and it now had my dog at 550 yards treed. I told him mine was now OK so I wouldn't have to turn it off.

When we walked back to the spot where we were standing when my garmin initially gave me that reading, I looked at it again as I was curious as to what it would show. When I looked it said my dog was again 48.?? miles on the compass page. I thought that was crazy as it seemed to have something to do with this spot at the corner of this corn field. I didn't see any power lines as I had read before of other folks experiencing this same thing, but I didn't see anything that I knew of that may have caused this. So I guess there must be some type of unique gravitational pull in that particular spot of this cornfield. LOL!!

No big deal as the unit worked fine all the rest of that night and again on Sat night, but it sure was weird what happened at that particular spot.

Never the less Thank You GARMIN for such a fine product. This is the greatest improvement in coonhunting equipment since the inception of the 22 rifle, even though finding bullets for these things is now about like hunting for diamonds, LOL.

Good Hunting to all.!!!

I grew up and workedin that area for 20 or so years. That area was heavily populated with Indians in the years past. I've had something similar happen when standing on an Indian burial mound before. Sure you didn't see any angry bunnies with red eyes watching you? Lol. But seriously, there are some areas around old Indian settlements that will mess with electronics.
