New club troubles

I am having trouble to find out where and if I need to to file for a non profit with the IRS and is it a requirement for UKC?

i know in our state you can download everything you need from the interne and then fill out paper work every year to stay in compliance

You can go to the IRS website and apply for an EIN tax number. It is not that expensive and they will mail you the information. I know in Virginia you do have to register as a non profit organization and we done that through there website as well. I do not believe it is a requirement however it is strongly suggested.

Our club is sighned up in Missouri, we go thru the SECRATARY OF STATE, I don't know what it cost to begin with,but we renue every 2 yrs. If we file on line it cost $20.00 if we mail it in it cost $30.00 Good luck
