James (Jim) L Randolph Obituary

March 1, 1930 - May 13, 2014

Many of you know Jim, I'm sure. He served as ACHA Chairman of the Board in the 60's & 70's.



James L. Randolph, age 84, passed away on Tuesday (May 13th, 2014) at Reid Hopsital. He was born on March 1st, 1930 in Old Hickory, Tennessee to Leodis and Daisy Randolph and had lived in this area since 1948. James was owner and operator of Randolph's Carpet Service, and was shop superintendent at Haughton Elevator before that. He was an avid hunter & fisherman who had many friends, was a lifetime member of the UAW, and was a lifetime democrat. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korea conflict, and was very proud of his service.

Survivors include his son Steve (Barbra) Randolph of Oklahoma City; Daughter Connie (Bud) Combs of Eaton, Ohio; Sisters Mildred (Glen) Doner of Glendale, California & Rema (Frank) Howard of Allgood, Tennessee; Sister in law Mildred Graves of Lynn, Indiana; Brother in law Clarence Dixon Jr. of Richmond; Grandson Steven (Kendra) Combs; Granddaughter Jamie (Donnie) Gilvin; Great grandson Gabriel Michael Staker; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, James' Wife Ima Jean Randolph passed away in 2002. A brother Troy Randolph is also deceased.

Services for James will be held on Tuesday (May 20th, 2014) at 12 p.m. in Riggle - Waltermann Monrtuary. Minister Frankie Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (May 19th, 2014) from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday (May 20th, 2014) from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Donations be made in James' name to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital (501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105) The American Cancer Society (Progress Drive Columbus, IN 47203) or Reid Hospice (1100 Reid Parkway Richmond, IN 47374)
