have you had this happen

Went to a RQE last nite drove little over a hour had my name pup in the guide pile. Found out that I was a guide when we drawled out told the cast members we would have to drive hour they were ok with it we got on our way. Won my cast the guys and I got talking the they said they would take the card in. I didn't know if they could so I called the hunt director he said it would be fine. The two guys that said they would turn the card in never did. The hunt director talked to both of them they said they forgot. We talk about UKC all the time I would like to see them step in do the right thing for a change get these two guys name and band them for a year or so. This type of stuff is why we are not getting the young hunters in our sport. we have forgot how to be sportsmen. UkC NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT.

If I'm reading you right, this RQE was run with a Hunt Director? Under UKC hunt rules all RQE's must use the MOH format. As for what you said, If I win a cast I will be with the card when it is turned in if I guide, judge, or just hunt there are to many things that can happen if you are not there when the card is turned in.

May just be me but under NO circumstance would I be in this predicament. Id never let somebody else take one back. Even at a regular hunt. How can ukc fix your bad judgment? Im not throwing off on you and dont want to argue but I bet you never do that again.

Why would you want someone punished for something that was your responsibility?
Yes they should have done what they said they would do. I am sure I would be upset too.JMO

It appears somebody just learned a $30 lesson.
You win the cast you take the card back. It has always been that way

I agree they should have taken it back but they aren't obligated to do so.

did the two guys that agreed to turn the card in live close to the club house? if so i can see why you would let them do it and expect that they would since it was on their way. and i can see how they would forget something like that too. it was late, they were looking forward to getting home and that card just left their memory. i've done dumb things like that. i don't blame you for being mad at them and disappointed in them and i bet they are ashamed too.

hunt

billy you made a good point but it was a $100 dollar mistake. But I am a old school type a guy if I tell you something I do my best to make it happen. When they said they would take it back we shook hands said good hunt. We as comp hunters know how to turn a card in. We can make mistakes yes. but I didn't hear from the guy till around 4:00 the next day. If I had done that to you or someone I would have called you as soon as I found out I messed up. Haven't heard from the other one.

Who was the judge?? In my opinion if one of them was the judge it is the judges responsibility to take the card back win loose or draw, you shouldn't have to worry if your card gets back when a MAN shakes your hand and tells you he will do it, this is a bunch a crap, give him the win and ban em

its a sad day when you can no longer trust a man to do what he says he will. sorry for your mishap I don't think you done anything wrong. the problem is either jealousy or incompetence. at the hunts I go to when you get back someone is going to ask who won and what the score is and if this does not bring to your attention you need to go to the truck and bring the card in and turn it in what would it take to get your attention? UKC should give you your win.

Thats what i was thinking!! It should be the judges dutie to return the score card win, lose, or draw.

yea but you must understand that the guys that said they would turn the card in forgot to do so. it wasn't bad sportsmanship or jealousy or anything otherthan common human weakness. they were not so excited about turning the card in as would someone that had won or wanted the results posted. it sliped their mind.

If you are at a coon hunt and have to take a guy back to the club to drop them off you don't forget that you have the card!!! I guess forgetting is a good excuse for a sore looser

The judge of the cast withdrew and left early. I was the guide that didn't have a clue I was going to till draw out the master of hounds asked who was the guide they said the top name on the card it was mine.

Well if i agreed to turn the card in you can bet your behind it would be turned in unless something tragic happened to me on my way to the club. Thats just how i am though. My word is all i have and it means something to me. But if i won i would have followed the judge back to the club to make sure my win was granted. I dont trust no one any more cause ive been screwed many times. Not every body thinks like me and ive came to realize that the hard way.
