The shocking system works great and ranges from a light tingle to a lightning bolt lol(i have shocked my self), i have never lost communication but i hunt pretty flat land. The battery is great, probably last 10 hrs+. The cons i can think of are price, especially if you have more than 1 dog. Also the alerts aren't very accurate. Sometimes it will say my dog is treed when really he is just stopped. So i don't really pay attention to the alerts. But overall all its a great system.

After nearly 3 years on two handhelds and three collars, I have found no "cons". Ours have been dead reliable, the batteries last much longer, communication is far more reliable that the earlier models and the e-collar function is totally in a class by itself. I had multiple 220's, 30's, and 40's and never Got much over a year out of any of them.
