Not saying you can't knock coons out with one, just saying that there is more to the equation than speed alone. That's where a lot of people were misled with the .17 HMR, yeah they're fast, but they won't kill what a good old .22 mag will because the bullets are so light. That and it only takes a squirrel fart to put you 2 ft off target at 100 yds.
Thanks, Things like this was what I was wanting to know. I would rather make a clean kill. Rather than take a chance on wounding anything or see it die a slow painful death. I guess I'll stick to the ol 22.
