Axel at 13 weeks
Last night went hunting with Tom Burke and his dog NC.TRU-BLU Bawlz Deep. Bawlz is the Sire to my 13 week old pup, Axel. I've been working with Axel as best as possible, with the advice of Mr. Burke. This is my first Coon Dog ever and I've only been hunting coon sinc fall of 2013. Axel had a chew bottle with Coon Gland and he has a Drag Hide. On the dayhe turned three months he treed on that Drag Hide in my yard. From the first time he hunted at 8 weeks old hes impressed me by how far he gets out. Hes really nosey and always sniffing at the basesof trees coon are treed in. Hes a great acting dog. Gonna be build like his Mother, TRU-BLU Callie.
Axel surprised me the most last night. He usually as of late gets out about 100 -150 yards and comes back to check in. 1st drop last night, he was all hunt. Wasn't coming in and wasn't coming in. Finally the Garmin stated that Bawlz fell treed, so we moved closer to where we could hear. Bawlz was 500+ yard away. We got within 330 yard of Bawlz and low and behold between his barks on tree, there was this little faint howl/whistle. Guess who was at the tree with his father at 500+ yards at 13 weeks? thats right Axel. Thanks again Mr. Burke for an awesome sport and the Opportunity to love Coon hunting and Helping me train this dog.
I DON'T ALWAY HANG OUT WITH BADASS COONDOGS, BUT WHEN I DO I GO BAWLZ DEEP.
