.22 CB & CB Long's

WOW....I know the Long Riffle and Shorts are in short supply, but man have I had trouble getting my hands on some CB's or CB Long's.

I've looked for either kind of CB for over 6 months both online and in store's around the house.

Finally found 3 boxes in stock online and bought them. Cost me $60 with shipping.

I remember when ole Papaw balked at them because they were $5 a box.

If your sitting on some CB's hold onto them for now or sell them while they're high if you can spare'em.

Sooner or later the supply will catch up with the demand.

Shortly after learning of the .22 ammo craze, last summer, I went onto gunbroker.com and found and bought 1,000 cb shorts for $99, shipping included. I thought that was a little high because not long before that I could buy 100 locally for $6, but with the uncertainty in it all I splurged the $99. Boy I'm glad I did. Looks like they have doubled since then. I hope and believe you are right and the prices will eventually come back down, but I'm hanging onto mine-should last me 10 years or more!

CB SHORTS?

WHY ARE PEOPLE HUNTING/USING CB SHORTS?

THEY DEFINITELY DON'T BRING THEM DOWN......DEAD.
UNLESS YOU LIKE TO SHOOT THEM 10X'S

I agree. I use shorts most of time. they bring them out and not really that much louder than cb's.

A good happy mediun if you can find them are the CCI. Quiets, usually one good shot will bring em out dead.

I ordered 30 boxes of the CB Quiets back in October from an on line supplier. I have not ever received them, it just keeps saying they are on back order. I think I will give them 1 year to fill my order, if it doesn't show up by them maybe I will have to cancel the order. Only upside to this is that they do not bill my credit card until the order is shipped.

I hate using Long Rifle's when starting a pup. Maybe I'll have these things before I start another pup. LOL!!!

Rocketman55, Something I have seen. Buy you extra regular shorts let them be 1 or 2 yrs old. They are no louder then a CB once they are 1 or 2yrs old but still have a dead punch. CB's in my experience if you have them over a yr they loose there killing power.

Matt:

Thanks for the offer.

I think I have enough to get me through a year or two, but if I run out I'll sure send you a message.

Hopefully by then the supply will have caught up with the demand.

I think I read a post of you hunting around Caesars Creek. I hunt up there about 2 or 3 nights a week. We'll have to meet up and hunt a while.

Happy Hunting,
Justin Tumbleson
