Btt. Last thread I saw talking about squalling. 6 or seven people stated they could scual a coon down a tree. Let see your method

I've seen many squalled out, all by two older hunters I grew up hunting with. Both just used their mouth, no squaller.

I watched my dad when I was a kid squall one half way down. We turned our lights on too soon and he went right back to the top. I was told just the other day by my uncle that a guy that he used to hunt with squalled every one out and let his dogs fight em. He also said that it wasnt long till the dogs wasn't any good any more because they got wipped too many times.

If your going to get one to come down you have to have your lights off or have a pop cover that takes out the unnatural light. I have the new Boss Cats eye in green it works great because the light is bright because it does not have to go threw a pop cover. I don't think you will get many videos do to the fact that most coons come down with no light or low light. I squalled one out a few weeks ago I had it 10 ft from the bottom with my green light on I went to video it with my phone and my phone would not pick it up I trun on my white light and the coon went back up. Later with the green it did come down, but no video.

I'm not asking you to take a video Camera into the woods. Do it in you own house is fine. Just wanting to see what methods different people like to to get coons the look( out a hole or when leaves at thick) or to come down.

I know coons can be squalled Down. I've seen it my self twice Both In small trees though. A guy I used to hunt with did both of them.
I just thought it would be a very interesting topic to see how different people use their call(or Mouth). Kinda like duck calling

I've seen coon squalled out my entire life, I didnt know it was such a rare occurence. Low light or no light works best.

Old timers I grew up huntin with squalled them out when first starting a pup. "jump races" They called em. They'd tie the old dogs, get the pup where they could see the coon hit the ground and give the coon a couple mins and let the pup give it a try.

I've seen my dad do it plenty of times. He can make them come down in a hurry and just uses his mouth.

a sow with kittens will run down the tree sometimes when you squall, have to be careful or the sow will jump right in the middle of the dogs. tie the dogs up away from the coon tree and squall and sometimes they will walk out. ive forgot my squaller before and i used a blade of grass or sawbriar leaf and put it between my thumbs and blow and ive got em to look but never tried squalling one down that way.

Ive never owned a man made squaller,always used my hand over my mouth and pinch the side of the cheek of my mouth. Helps to have your light on low too,My dad taught me how to do it years ago and I've squalled sevaral out over the years. now I just do it enough to get them to look. kids and new hunters can never believe Im making that sound with my mouth the first time they ever see/hear me do it. LOL
Some may find it hard to believe,but a couple years back I squalled for awhile until the coon finally came down,the dogs grabbed ahold and the fight was on,when that coon went to squalling three other coons i didnt even know where sittin up around the tree we where treed on started jumping out too...you could hear the thumping when they hit the ground.

Hey Fellows. That post that looks Black with a big bright spot in it is not a coon eye . It is the Moon. What you have to do is left click on the blackspot with the bright spot in it if you want to see the video. First one posted yet amongst all the bragging and a carrying on and such. Click on it is a clue. And get other folks to post a video instead of Editit ta tit ta torializing. How about it?
