I have an English male, that is tight on track. Is it bred into him or can it be fixed?

There is no way that i know to make one bark on Track they are either born being open on track or they arent. I did have one though that was stone silent on track. when he opened you could strike and tree him on the same breath, but if he was in deep water he would open on track with a very loud bawl mouth. if no water though you wouldnt hear him till he located.

some dogs you can pretty much control how much they open by how many coon you give them.
may not make a difference on yours but id give it a try.

Well, he still has his one or two night "bark on track" moments, but seems to me he will always be tight on track. Shooting coons and hunting near water didn't help at all.

Nonetheless, he made Nitech with 3 1st place wins, and only 25- in 5 hunts.

When i went to hunting him in the woods he would open on track some. It was accident it worked out but it did work maybe worth a try
