Advice on a lying hound

I have an eight year old hound that has been a coonhound in his day. He has trained quite a few hounds for us. But now we are experiencing a little troube all of a sudden. The last four nights he has treed slick every tree. Just wondering if anyone with more experience than me can give any advice? What causes this or just as important what can I do to fix it?
Thanks

Sometimes when they get old they try to test you . You could switch him & send him on like you would a young dog .
Also you may have him checked for health problems if he was always accurate before & it's not just getting lazy . Allergy problems can mess with their noses . Certain bedding cedar chips , hay & straw can affect some dogs. You can give a benedrly a day (just not right before hunting can make them tired) . Eurlikia (sp) also affects dogs hunting ability . If nothing else works you may have him tested for it .

Now that sounds like me. I guess it just doesn't apply to dogs only.
