has a big beautiful bawl on track and a loud bawl locate, he is a 70 bark per minute tree dog. He is not a real long range hunter but will hunt in a circle 3 to 400 yds out. He is a very smart hound. Handles the best.

If this is right, then Gus sure does have some heck of a pedigree. Rob, you are right there are some awfully nice hounds in there on the top as well as the bottom.

remember you and Rex picked up Gus' sire (old gus) at Autumn Oaks. He was sent to me by Dan Knight. Dan told me he was the closest thing to Zack left living and that I needed to get some pups from him. He had never been in a nite hunt but was a good ole country coon dog. Beautiful mouth with that Zack trademark locate. The next year I was able to get 1 litter of pups from him before he died. Dixie his dam also produced Dual Grand purina champion Joiners Shut'em Boo Boo from Donnie Stocktons Smokey Mountain Slugger. Donnie main bear dog Turbo is also from this cross. Also the nite champion Baby female(mate to gus) owned by Mike Swords.

Since ya'll are talking about Gus, i'm throwing my 2 cents in. Got a Gus pup a little over 7 months old, been in the woods 5 times. Went with the old dog the 3rd nite, she ran her own track last nite, old dog went to her & helped, old dog treed first, pup smelled on tree & went to treeing with a big loud mouth. Not a hot track either, garmin showed about a mile from strike to tree. Pup worked track about 1/2 mile before old dog opened. Pup has been handling real good since I started hunting her. I'm perty impressed. Awfull aggravating when younger, but now a real pleasure, & I like pleasure.
