I have to disagree Tom with most, if not all of your post. I don't think this President could do anything to please the right.
His first 2 yrs the Dems did have control and pushed the Auto bailout and such but I think the President under estimated the hatred from the right towards him, and he thought they would still be able to cross party lines and work together........He was wrong, he didn't know that the far right had already held private meetings and took a pledge to go the opposite of what Obama wanted or didn't want.....he was doomed to fail and the Right didn't care about what it cost America, and it showed in the 2012 Election that it didn't fool hardworking Americans by what the Far right was trying.
As far as Bush, I couldn't stand him as a President, but admired him as a man and his down to earth good oid boy personality.
Just as with Bill Clinton it was the opposite with me, I liked him as President, but had issues with him as a husband, father and his character in his personal life.
There is more to life than Coonhunting, I will do my best to instill certain beliefs and principles into my children, everything we do in life reflects back on our upbringing and what our Parents and Family teach us, the Rights and Wrongs in life.
I have no false illusions that guys like you and I will ever see eye to eye, but this idea that the President has tried to do anything in a bi-partisan manner is complete and udder horseshit. I think Congress is slowly destroying this country, but the right is the only thing slowing the left down from quickening that pace. The left, to include the President himself, will not negotiate with the right, and have now taken away the little bit of power the minority had in the Senate. The President has done nothing to bridge the gap, in fact has almost intentionally made it worse with his slander and finger pointing.
The ACA is too heavy of a burden for the working class to carry, and the President and Senator Reid will do anything to avoid admitting they screwed the pooch on that deal. Sadly it won't get fixed until it is too late.
