Welcome Paul

What strain of BMC you got? I really enjoy mine I have 3 Ladners and one female from Art Lee. They are some fine people on here that hunt BMC.

PMOSLEY, hope you and yours had a good Thanksgiving.

Your location and sir name has peaked my curiosity. My grandfather carried the same last name. Are you familiar with Greasy Creek or the White Oak/Sams Branch/Upper Bad Cr/Middle Fork area?

Mr. Mosley there are stock dogs and treedogs within this breed. As a general rule the stock dogs will weigh in on the big side up to and including 120 lbs. While the Ladner lines will weigh in at 35-45 lbs for females and 45-60 lbs for males. As with in any line of dogs there is good and bad. I have found that the dogs raised for stock work have a tendency to be overly aggressive all the way around and not a lot of tree in them. There are exceptions but very few. Something you will find in common with all BMCs is their loyality and intelligence. It would serve you well to seek out those with the proven tree dog lines. you have a pm with my number and I would be happy to discuss dogs with you...
