when my son wanted to get into coon hunting we bought a grade blue tick, the guy told me it was up on wormer and shots
I typically do not just assume this is so but did
three days later the pup had a prolapsed rectum due to worms. a
family member is a vet and we were going to have the pup put down
She said it was not something you saw a lot in vet school and if we would let her do the surgery she would not charge just for her to get more experience on this type of surgery.
she saved the dog. My wife had to take it back and forth to the vet got to being her pet so we let her have him and then eventually went into curs. As the dog got older it started having more and more trouble, its rectum stayed swollen and was in pain when it tried to go.
we were again going to have it put down. but the vet said as a last resort try science diet feed. the cost was steep and I got online and did some reading, the sportsman pride and hunters special were reviewed in the top ten as far as foods not just filled with corn.
we went to sportsman pride and that was a year and a half ago
the dog has not been back to the vet and is in as good a health as he ever has been. It made me a sportsman pride fan
