I did not see if you had his age on there. I have went through a few in my younger days when I hunted an older guys dogs. Seemed some to take off young but I swear the most of them seemed to hit around 18-24 months. Keep us updated on the progress.

Oh yeah that's y goal is to try to get someone to catch a live one for me or do it myself...id like 2 or 3 of thrn one to see if he will tree a caged coon and let it go so I can see what he will do with it....and the other 2 imma do the same but imma let the get about 10 min head start and see if he will tree themm or find them...if I jerk his drag like there alive that's when he starts to bark on tree a little bit but he's getting better each time just need more time on ground I think

I am by no means a master trainer or anything but sounds like to me you got a good one and he wants to please you.
Just make it enjoyable for him and keep it up sounds like he will turn out just fine.

so proud needs more work still i think

Last night me and a buddy went and dropped our dogs off by the river and his dog blew up instantly took off through the woods and ridges and was gone we figured it took to a hot bear track or was chasing a deer....well good news was my little english at 10 months old let the older dog go his way and went and was trailing by the river and never took to that bear or tree track I did shine light on him once and he ran right past a possum which made me proud and my friend gave my dog credit for well I guess at sme point after the possum Blaze (my english redtick) must have gotten into the river while hunting cuase he came back to check in with e soke and wet but didn't tree anything and if he did he didn't open up but imma work with him some more today and imma get a fresh coon today and drag it for a distance on him and take him to the woods again tonight hopefully....wish me luck again

The ones we got here training for a couple of guys sure took off quicker than that ! I've got 5 mo old pups running and treeing on their own ...just sent a half brother home 6 mo old . Guy called me this past weekend 1st night in the woods went with dogs & treed w/ them 2nd night got the stike & tree & had the meat !I own walkers (my brother is an English dog man) but have been very impressed w/ these English pups ! They are out of an old English dog named Water Oak Blue from KS ...he's 10 yrs old & leading the KS state race in $kc for 2013 .

Keep working your pup That Dog I'm sure he'll turn out if you put the time into him !

Thanks redneck mafia I know he will turn out I just don't think there's any coons along where were hunting right now I think people have hunted them out down there but imma try a few more places and hopefully he will get on....last night we took him out he kept getting excited running off and coming back idk if he's catching wind of one or not but it appears he's got wind of one cuase his tail will start waggin and he will get excited run into the woods for 10 15 mins and come back I'm glad he's doin good but from the few nights on ground he's appearing tp be a close hunter and won't go bu 150 yard out max but that makes it easy for me cuase I don't use a tracking collar so I think he's on the right path as of now and he does check in frequently and he's got coon on mind cuase he gets super excited when I bring a fresh one off the road in or hide he will grabb it chew on it shack it and run off with it and if I tug on it he will growl and ssometimes bark at it.... but I know he wpnt trash as of now but I'm in the process of trapping one now and imma set of a feeder to drawl some in and see if he can't do it like that I don't like to but I need to get himm goin before the coons rut season in jan to feb....but he improves more and more each day
