???? Big Game Kemmer's ???

Is anyone using Kemmer's for bear dogs? If so, what particular lines are you using?

We have a big male that is 3/4 Kemmer and 1/4 Blackmouth. We don't know his exact lines, but he came from a man named Sam Hayes in western N.C.
He's not a very open dog but he'll put a bear up a tree and stay with it, he's a better hog dog though.

Thanks for the replys. idcurs...What kind of nose do they have? Are they rigging a medium to medium/cold track? How are the Striker and McCray dogs bred?

kemmers

Striker is gold nugget bred and the best big game kemmer line out there !!!!!!!He puts a lot of cold trail in his offspring and track drive.Gus is yellow jack-goldnugget and puts a lot of grit and tree in his off spring.I have hunted this line for over 15 years and have not been disapointed.

Thanks for the information

It's sounds like you have a good thing going!! A couple guys in our group have some kemmers....they are doing very well also. They started at a young age, too!! I'm not real sure exactly how they are bred, but will look in to it.

idcurs ... I sent you a pm

BIG GAME KEMMERS

Brian Hepperly in Townsend, Tn is a big bear hunter and uses Kemmer dogs. He uses some of the BlackJack and Blondie IV lines plus others.

He said he goes behind a lot of hound hunters and trees bears! Brian has some fine bear dogs!!

Couple of Kemmers on Mt Lion out Herring's Buckshot x Striker. This is Skipper Pound's Bullet dog and a pup out of Bullet and a heavy Blondie IV female.

The Brindle Jack, WI Buck(Striker) and Lady Nugget bred dogs are producing some nice big game dogs as well. Mostly used on hogs and mt lions but I bet they would work bear as well!

My Brindle Jack dog is producing some nice Mt Lion and bob cat dogs.

There are plenty more folks out there using Kemmers on big game.

Several use Kemmers in predator controll that you never hear from like Mr Fry that owned Nevada's Striker.

Hope that helps some!
Charles

my experience with curs is its more the individuals than any one line, some lines are better than others but its more about the individual etc....

I posted this pic above of Ty and Daisy. Daisy has pups out of Ty that are only 5 days old now but if you want a LINE of dogs that will work on big game, these pups should work!

Daisy and new born pups

Another pic of an action shot. This is Daisy, Ty and Jack(another Brindle Jack x Lady Nugget dog) with two of Daisy's pups form last litter with Jack baying at 6 mos old with the pack.

I agree to some extent with each dog is an individual but the combination of Brindle Jack, WI Buck and Lady Nugget are, for the most part, deadly on big game from Mt. Lion to hogs!

You would not go wrong with one of these pups!!

Dee Smith in San Antonio owns these dogs/pups! Cell: 210-422-0791
