I'll try to do some lookin' for names, but I have seen a couple dogs that were outta GRNITECH Evan's Red Joe and Showtime Kate in pedigree's in older magazines.

I wouldn't think that any littermates would be alive as Amos won the Purina Race in 1991, I'm thinkin' I've seen on one of these boards where they have semen on Amos though, so who know's maybe there will be some little Amos' in the future.

If you are looking for some of the Evans Red Joe blood (sire of Bluegrass Amos), I own a female out of Evans Red Joe that currently has a liter of pups out of Timmy Pratt's Five Star Rebel Thunder - she is probably one of the last living out of Joe. If you're interested in one of these pups - let me know and I'll get you in contact with Timmy. If you're looking for blood of Bluegrass Amos dam - sorry can't help you.

Call Farrell Hammett

I am not positive, but I think his Grandnite male Jim is a brother to the Crossroads Dan dog. His number is (256)538-1557.

Doug I think theres still some grandpups down this way Peppers Dam is out of AMOSII and shes still around-Ice-Mans dam was a littermate to Peppers dam but she was lost in an accident.Eddie and Bob Parker bred Amos/AmosII some local so probably be some others.--Jim....went back and pulled Peppers papers Amos shows 465 pups 6GN 19NC 4GS and 22SC as of May16,2005 and AmosII only shows 16 pups and I know of 2 of them mentioned them already.

Hi Jim...

How are you?? How's Rose doing??

I got those counts out of the Bloodlines, I would think that your papers would be the most accurate.

By now you probably heard the Casper male I bred to Rose's grandma Reba was put down so I have the last litter of Casper pups coming. She is bellied up pretty good and pups due next Friday July 8th.

I imagine it has been pretty hot lately down there, we were 91 yesterday with near 100% humidity so a little uncomfortable to man and animal! Take care Jim hope all is well!

Sadie

The pedigrees Doug showed are correct. But Darrel Flom was the breeder of Gr. Nt. Night Strike Sadie and I bought her as a 8 week old pup and owned her until she died at the age of 7 in December of 2000. On our 14 hour drive to English Days a few weeks ago one of the many things talked about by Darrel and I and Tom Erding were the dogs from the Amos and Queen cross, There were several good dogs from that cross although only 2 were owned by men who competition hunt, but we couldn't think of any that were still alive.

I have a daughter of Sadie's (and GR.NT. Smooth Talking Jed) that is named Night Strike Tammy and there are a few dogs out of Sadie and Huck A Buck being hunted including a Nt.Ch. male dog in Georgia named Mo that I have heard good things about. These dogs would be more grand pups of Amos.

Troy

Troy...

I was not the only one to have a long hot drive to English Days, but mine was only 11 hrs. I wish I could have met you and talked dogs.

This is a great post and the kind I like to see, great exchange of info and past dogs. You never know what will turn up.

I wish I had bred my old gyp to Crossroads Dan back in 2001 but at the time Jimmy Farmer stated he had gone sterile.

Makes you wonder what semen is out there on some of these past dogs.

Doug

I wish we could have met at English Days too. Darrel Flom, Tom Erding, and I have been going to English Days for several years together so it makes the long drive a lot easier. There are so many people that we have gotten to know over the years and every year we have been lucky enough to meet more. It suprises me how much smaller the dog world seems when you visit with people from several states every year. A lot of Saturday afternoon was used trying to help find a friends dog that had been lost Friday night and we were so busy trying to stay cool the rest of the time. We also forgot all about the camera and the plan to get a picture of the Jetta female that is running the Purina race since she is out of Tom's Stinger dog.

A person can always look back and wonder what if. I met Wyatt Wright at English Days several years ago and he was really pushing me to breed Sadie to Rooster. Seeing how well Amos/Rooster crosses worked I have often wondered "what if" on that cross. But on the other hand there are some good dogs out of the two litters I raised from Sadie and I got to meet Randy Selby and Jim Ridge when I bred to their stud dogs.
