your breed

I've been told it's a shame she is blue. so it makes me courious how many people will go out of there breed of choice if they see what they like in a dog?

I feel the same I'm more partical to bluticks and black and tans but I've owned all kinds of breed that were like a hurricane in the woods and some that just couldn't do it

The best squirrel dog I've seen so far was when I was a pup myself,he wasn't one bit of hound in him,so I have no color blindness at all,if they get it done so what.

Your Question Was "your breed "

To me that means what breed are you loyal to you know the good with the bad IN FOR THE LONG HALL. Now if you will hunt anything then to me you don't carea bout breed just a good dog and nothing wtrong with that BUT For me my breed is the BLACK & Tan PERIOD.

For me it is the English Hound. I have followed hounds all my life, however having said that I have NEVER owned anything but an English. My father has owned every breed there is and then some. He gave me my 1st registered English Hound hound 37 years ago. Having said that a grade school buddy of mine had given me a grade English Hound when I was 12 years old, which was 10 years prior to my 1st registered hound. So I guess I have been hunting English, and NOTHING BUT ENGLISH for a total of 47 years. My hounds I hunt today all go back to the daddy of that 1st grade dog I was given in 1967 by my grade school friend.

So I have owned English, and nothing but English, all my life. And every once in a while they will get under a coon, LOL!!!

I love my Kentucky River line. Good sence, good looks, good drive, proof is in the reproducers.

You and I agree again Mr. H.L., except for the small detail in that it has to be a walker..lol

here is the story behind the question
i own walkers my brother owns blueticks, he has a female that hunts great and is a super track dog, trees a pile of coon. him and his son thinks i should take a pup out of that female but i have no intrest in a bluetick but if she was a walker i would get a pup in a heart beat.
its just like most people once you get a certain breed you stick with that breed to see what you can do with it.

I do like the looks of a B&T and started out with one, maybe someday i will switch to B&T's but i have no plans of getting into blueticks there looks just dont catch my eye
