Lost a Good 1- Grand Nite Ch Stylish Dixie Chic

Dixie was bred to Tar Heel Nitro male that we bred her to before with such good luck. She had 1 pup and was having trouble having the rest, so she was took to the vet and they did a C section on her and had 4 more pups. There was 5 males and 3 lived so far. They stitched Dixie back up and she was at Ricks house and he went out to check on her and she was dead. I have had many of good nights of hunting behind her and you never had to guess what she was going to do. She was a true COON DOG. RIP Little Girl.

Very sorry for your loss. That is the second good female I have heard of dying of similar circumstances within the month.

Let this be a lesson to others. There is a drug out there called Oxytocin that aids in the birthing process. Breeders should look into this drug.

Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Oxytocin can be very dangerous given to a female if they have a puppy stuck in the birth canal or if the birth canal is blocked so you must be very careful using this drug.

It sounds like you did the right thing taking her to the vet, sometimes these thing just happen. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Hope some of the pups make it and follow in her footsteps.

Sorry for your loss gentlemen.Just the reason I am hesitant about breeding my female.I have let her pass many times and the only time I bred her ,she had just 1 pup and it was huge and she had alot of trouble with him.Alot of time ,money, worry and aggravation goes into breeding and raising a litter of pups. The good ones die too soon.

Thanks guys. She sure was a good one. She was the easiest pup I have ever started and had a head full of sense.
