I have a young hound that's is doing good at tracking and will usually stay at the tree with a good locate but the trouble is that when he is treed all alone after a few minutes he stops barking . he stays at the tree but will get called on the 2 minute rule . how can I get him to keep barking ? not to bad when he is with other dogs just when he is treed alone . any help would be appreciated thanks

I have a year and half old pup that has been doing the same thing. Have been hunting him with older dogs and started getting some shot out too him and the last two times he has been hunting he has started to stick and keep barking. It has taken him most of the summer to get past that. Patience i am sure.

I have a dog that will be 2 this month, he has 1 win and should be nite champion by now except for his problem of chewing at the tree and the 2 will get him. He's independant as all get out and will not normally back another dog but is ok if one backs him. When he's treeing with another dog he tends to not chew so much. If you notice your dog chewing any my advice would be to do all you can to correct it before it gets out of hand like my dogs did.
