I'm not looking to start a bashing thread. In fact, I don't even want to see any negative comments about either dog on here. I just want to know which dog seems to be throwing better pups. I WILL be breeding my female to one of the two, I just want to know more about the type of pups each is throwing. Mouths, looks, brains, early starters, etc. please refrain from any and all NEGATIVE comments about either dog. I just want to know more about the pups they are throwing. Any help is appreciated.

I'm located in northeast Arkansas. I dont have my papers with me, but they are something like this.

PM me your number, I will save it, and as soon as I get her bred I will let you know, and I will gladly put you down for a pup. She is young now, so it may be a while, I just wanted to get more information on the dogs, so I can have my mind made up as to which dog I wanted to breed her to.

Just wondering, without knowing about their offspring what led to your decision to breed to one of them? Have you hunted with them?

Ever since I got my female, I have been looking and looking for something with Lipper close in their Pedigree. I found the Litter of Impact, and in all honesty, I was skeptic at first. I've been reading about pups each dog is throwing, and have heard some good things. But never really heard as to which dog seems to be throwing better pups (they may be throwing equally nice pups). Both dogs seem to have good mouths, and obviously Lipper did. I want a big mouth dog, with a good cold nose. No, I don't want a boo hoo all night long track dog, but at the same time they dont have to be a hot nosed fast track dog, and I SURE don't want any of these tree happy idiots that seem to be all too common these days. I'm just wanting to produce some good ole country COONDOGS, that me and my friends will be glad to hunt any night. All in all I am sure I personally will be pleased with breeding to either of the dogs, and thats all that matters to me.

Doubt you could go wrong with either one.I bred my Clover female to Dr.Law.Pups are 11 months old and so far all the reports I've gotten on all 6 pups are good.Hunt good,big mouths,and running and treeing.I had another pup from a different litter out of him that was really looking good too,but I was offered more than I could turn down and sold her.Just waiting on my female to cycle and I'll be breeding back.Number is 580-775-7724 if you want to talk.Good luck,Grant.

We can bash Rat but not lipper huh? I'll tell ya. Neither of these pups could or will produce rats numbers even if you added lippers numbers in there with em. Good luck.

I'm a firm believer in that certain traits that will work in one part of the country won't work so well in another part of the country. Possibly even state to state.

Sounds to me like you should probably stick with what your having luck with, skuna river.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about that raccoon valley wrangler

He supposed to be a colder nosed, track driving hound.

If your looking for more of a medium nosed hound, clover would probably be a good choice.

Clover x skuna river crosses usually turn out pretty good from what I understand.

I know of a buddy that will be making this cross soon.

Days and Dozer is a full littermate to the female that he owns, which is the mother of the pup I own. He might be a good option. Has a pretty good mouth to.

My pup also could use a little more mouth, but seems to have an endless amount of drive,brains, and hunt in her. From what I've seen hounds where they are bred for mouth, seem to lack a little bit in other areas. Just my opinion, which is probably based too much on videos off of the internet, and from what I have read in the forums.


As far as the lipper dogs, I have no idea what kind pups they either are throwing, but I'm not sure why you would want to gamble with an outcross.

No dog can control the track ... they can cull the ones that seem cold or jump ship if it's tough ...

But , no dog can run all their tracks with ease or even only run easy ones ... it's a live animal with a brain they are chasing and all coondogs are tested regular by the coon and elements .. even the best track dogs struggle plenty .


The only dogs that seem to not have trouble are babblers and junk runners that fall under coon ... any honest coondog has to work for a living .. that' just Mother Nature and the Laws of the Universe at play.
